Greenwich Cove

As this structure moves towards the water, it adds stories and grows in scale, transforming from classically sedate to explosively baroque. The house is organized around a glazed octagonal court that serves as a library displaying collections from the owner’s extensive travels. The floor plan was arranged to orientate the great spaces southwest, turning 45-degrees through ceiling design, furniture placement, and curved waterfront glass. The finishes are the architects’ signature high-gloss paint, bouncing the natural light throughout the home, the clear maple wide plank flooring that is reminiscent of beach’s sand, and a reclaimed limestone tile. The kitchen counters are Azul Macuba, appearing as though they are nautical maps. We met the challenge of this ambitious location by orchestrating an illusionary, nonconforming structure set unperturbed in its own cove.
